The Atlanta Campaign staff would like to announce that they will be holding a meeting on either the 1st or 2nd Saturday of August at Nash Farm. At this meeting we will be discussing the upcoming 2008 event and our plans for 2009. Commanders please watch your e-mail or mail for a letter of invitation.

The Atlanta campaign Inc. is pleased to announce the battles for the 2008 and 2009 events. In 2008 we will reenact the Battle of Jonesboro, Kilpatrick’s raid and the final battle at Lovejoy Station. In 2009 we have planned what we think will be great battles for the reenactors. We will fight the battles of Cheatham Hill, the Battle of Atlanta, and evening scenario revolving around Jonesboro and once again the Cavalry action at Lovejoy Station. We are looking forward to two great years and your continued support.

We are pleased to announce an agreement has been reached with the Microtel Inn and Suites for the reenactment for 2008 and 2009. They will be our official hotel. Please see the hotel icon for the details. It is located off I 75 at Exit 224 (Eagles Landing). We wish to thank them for their sponsorship.

The Atlanta Campaign Inc. wishes to announce that General Tom Jessee has graciously accepted the Confederate Command at Atlanta for 2008 and 2009. We are very pleased with his decision. Also on the Federal side Command will be divided between three very capable people in 2008. They are Colonel John McNair, Colonel Dwight Dovel and Colonel Ken Sumner. We want to thank all three gentlemen for agreeing to help make this year’s event a great one.
 
Registrations are already coming in. We have 4 Sutlers, 4 Artillery and 1 Infantry unit registered so far. Please note that you can now register using a credit card if you choose to do so. We are also receiving inquiries about the anniversary event on Labor Day weekend 2009. There will be more to come in the near future. Thursday, January 24th, 2008:


The Atlanta Campaign Incorporated wishes to announce that the 97th Regimental String Band will be attending and performing at both the
2008 and the 2009 Anniversary events. We are very pleased that they have agreed to be at both reenactments.

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007:

The Atlanta Campaign Incorporated is pleased to let you know that after all the accounting has been completed, we can announce that the total monies going to Nash Farm and Henry County Parks and Recreation is $8137.00. Thank you for your hard work and support. Because of you and the citizens of Henry County, the event was a huge success.

We intend to make a change in the exit area for next year. There should be an exit for each camp, eliminating all congestion going through the sutler area and the main gate. We would also like to let you know that three sutlers and one artillery group have already registered for 2008. Additionally, we are working on some changes for the living history area for next year. This comes from your suggestions and comments.

Thursday, November 8th, 2007:

The Atlanta Campaign Inc. wishes to announce the dates of theAtlanta reenactment for the next two years. In 2008 the dates are November 7, 8 and 9. In 2009, the 145th anniversary event, the date is Labor Day weekend. We also wish to thank all those who attended this year and made the weekend the great success it turned out to be. In the coming weeks we will be able to give you a dollar figure that will go to Nash Farm and Henry County. It is all due to your participation and hard work and the support of the people of Henry County.

Saturday, September 29th, 2007:

HAY for cavalry for this event is being purchased for those cavalry pre-registered as of Monday, October 1, 2007. If you are NOT pre-registered by that date and are bringing your horse, please bring your own hay for the weekend.

SUBSTITUTIONS will only be accepted until Monday, October 15, 2007. If someone pre-registered is not coming and you are coming in their place, please make sure that your unit CO gets the information to the event staff before that date. The pre-registration list is being printed up a day or two after 10/15, and if your name is not on it you will have to pay the walk-on fee. There will be no exceptions.

The staff would like to thank the 18 gun crews that have registered so far. We look forward to your participation and hope you get to fire those big guns a lot. We also wish to thank the 34th Ga. crew for bringing the gun with the original tube. It will add to the event. This is the most guns we have had registered this early in the registration process. Congratulations!

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007:

Sutler registration for the 2007 Battles of Atlanta event is closed. Also, as a reminder, the registration fee increases from $10.00 per person to $15.00 per person beginning on August 1, 2007. Please send in your registrations before August 1 in order to avoid the fee increase.

Sunday, June 10th, 2007:

The Atlanta Campaign Inc., a 501(C)(3) corporation, will be hosting a reenactment at Nash Farm Battlefield for the next three years. In 2007 and 2008, the event will be held on the first weekend of November. In 2009, the 145th Anniversary event will be held on Labor Day weekend.

Because of our new association with Henry County and Nash Farm, we felt we would like to hold an open meeting to discuss the event . We have chosen the camp sites, the battles, the sutler area, the living history area, etc. Therefore we are extending an invitation to you to attend and share your thoughts with us. The meeting will be held on Saturday, June 23rd 2007 beginning at 10:00A.M. The location will be the Nash Farm site.

If you have any questions beforehand please feel free to contact any of the directors. Our contact information is on our website as are the directions to Nash Farm. We look forward to your participation to help shape the events at Nash Farm for the next 3 years.

On Saturday, June 23rd, the Atlanta Campaign will hold an open meeting at the Nash farm site beginning at 10 am. Everyone who wishes to attend is welcome.

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007:

The Atlanta Campaign Inc. is pleased to announce that the 97th Regimental String Band will be at the Reenactment this year. They will be performing for the school day visitors, the Military Ball on Saturday night and one concert each day before the battle. We look forward to there appearance and hope that everyone will enjoy their music.

Friday, March 22nd, 2007:

The home of Colonel Charles T. Zachry, Brigade Commander of the 27th Ga. has been moved to Nash Farm. It will become a museum for the Colonel. Hopefully during the battle weekend we can let the reenactors close.

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007:

The Atlanta Campaign has created a Board of Directors which is made up of 4 people. Each person has an equal say in the operation of the Corporation. All decisions are made by the members with a majority of 3 votes to carry a motion. The Board members are: Charlie Rice, John Nash, Walt Compton and Earl Zeckman. Tuesday, December 12th, 2006:

The Atlanta Campaign Staff and Henry County Board of Commissioners are pleased to announce that the "Battles of Atlanta" event has a new home for 2007 - 2009. The "Battles of Atlanta" will now be held at the Nash Farm Battlefield, located in Lovejoy, Georgia.

The battle dates are as follows:

November 2 - 4, 2007
October 31 - November 2, 2008
September 4 - 6, 2009 (Labor Day Weekend) - NATIONAL EVENT
